” Fathers Children” Concert Review 2012

The R&B Recording Artist “Fathers Children” from the Washington DC area,

brought two of their top guns Qaadir Sumler ( lead vocalist ) and Ted Carpenter

lead vocalist to Chicago on November 17, 2012 at the beautiful Sabre Room

in Hickory Hills, IL.

This was the  first performance here in Chicago for this soulful awesome twosome.

The group’s vocalists was here to perform their  Chicago #1 steppers hit “If I”

from their most recent CD “The Sky’s The Limit”

The group “Fathers Children ” is best known for their 1980 Hit on Mercy Records

“Hollywood Dreaming”

This event was hosted by Ken Bedford.

The music DJS for this event the legendary Sam Chatman and Mellow Khris.

I am choosy about my steppers music because this is also my line of work.

The music was smooth and the audience was steppin hard.

The vocals of  Q Sumler were smooth, sexy and strong when they performed their

hit “If I ” .

Ted Carpenter provided that extra kick with his back-up vocals.

The cell phones and camera were flashing including mine.

The audience were on their feet in appreciation for these great vocals.

They sounded so nice that they had to do it twice.

Lead vocalist Ted Carpenter also performed another track from their

“The Sky’s The Limit CD “Something That I Wanna Say To You” ,

which is one of my favorite tracks from this CD and I also have chosen

this track for their next steppers hit.

The awesome twosome stayed around after their  performance to sign autographs

and to sell their “The Sky’s The Limit ” CD and Fathers Children tee shirts.

DJ Wonder Woman was on hand to assist with their marketing materials.

Chicago thanks Ken Bedford for bringing this soulful twosome to Chicago.

There is nothing musically that this soulful  group can’t do.
